Hmm. Why can't I see too many Americans wearing that? It's sort of like me wearing a Tigers tshirt right about now.

lol, as a temporary expat, I'm all about Canada right now -- saying I'm from Toronto is usually good for knocking fifty rubles off of a(n admittedly still way inflated) gypsy cab fare.

Also, when Russians try to guess which English-speaking country I'm from (I agree with whatever they guess), they respond with, like, synedochal national objects. Like, if they know I'm American or from Vegas, they'll say "Macdonald's, casino!" If they think I'm British, it's "Big Ben, Buckingham Palace!" They have these little touchstones for Australia and Ireland and all that too -- everywhere except Canada. I think they think it's just a rumor.
